 Activities at Strathgarry
All the best amenities of the Highlands lie within close reach of Strathgarry House.
Fishing We have half a mile of salmon fishing below the house on the River Garry which is a tributary of the Tummel and the Tay, while trout fishing can be arranged on nearby hill lochs. With sufficient warning, we can arrange salmon fishing on other rivers. There is good local coarse fishing for pike and perch. Fly fishing lessons by arrangement.
 Shooting and Stalking
Grouse and pheasant shooting are available, as is stalking for red and roe deer. However the best of these activities may be booked as much as a year or more ahead, so please let us know your requirements as early as possible. Two agents specialising in sporting lets are Strutt & Parker and Finlayson Hughes.
Walking
There are many famous local walks (3-5 miles or more, or less) - strenuous or easy. Good mushroom hunting in season. We can provide picnics, also guides if necessary.
Sports
There is an excellent 18-hole golf course at Pitlochry (5 miles) and a nine-hole course at Blair Atholl (3 miles). Sailing, canoeing, riding and clay-pigeon shooting can also be easily arranged - and we have our own private hard tennis court.
Shopping
Pitlochry is an excellent shopping centre for cashmere, tweed and other traditional Scottish goods, while the celebrated House of Bruar lies just the other side of Blair Atholl.

Other activities
Blair Castle is open to the public from Easter to the end of October, while Perth (half an hour's drive) is an interesting historic market town. Just outside Perth is Scone Palace, home of the Earl of Mansfield, where the Kings of Scotland were traditionally crowned. Glamis - where Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother was born - is under an hour away. Whisky enthusiasts will relish a trip to the world's smallest distillery - Edradour - just outside Pitlochry and, in the town itself, is Blair Atholl Distillery which provides an excellent tour.
There are many beautiful local gardens open to the public.
